My love of storytelling began early. Even before I could read or write, I was making up stories for other kids in my neighborhood. Whether it's a novel, a short story, a movie, or just a good old-fashioned campfire tale, I've always been fascinated by the way the stories we tell shape our lives.

After obtaining a BA in Creative Writing from Ohio University, I focused on freelance writing, exploring everything from journalism to web comics in addition to working on my own short fiction. One of my biggest passions is the world of tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs), which began in 2015 after I picked up a Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition Starter Set. Becoming a Game Master (GM) was a life-changing experience for me both personally and professionally. It opened up new ways to experience storytelling which reignited my passion for the art. Now I'm expanded my writing efforts into creating modules for 5e, to share the stories I've written for my own games over the past five years.

My writing is all about character-driven narrative. One of my guiding principles is: no matter how cool a setting might be, it's nothing without compelling characters. For me, the strength of the characters make or break any story.

While I've written in a variety of genres and media, I'm is most at home between the intersection of fantasy, fabulism, and folklore. Short stories and screenplays are my favorite things to write, with a special emphasis on dialogue. The surrealism and mystery of folk tales continue to be a major inspiration and influence on my work, alongside unique literary voices like Franz Kafka and works like Peter S. Beagle's The Last Unicorn. Following the advice of my childhood hero Fred Rogers, I strive for writing that is "deep and simple," while also being, as Twin Peaks' Dale Cooper once said, "both wonderful and strange." I hope above all that readers find our shared humanity and a sense of deep mystery within the strange worlds of my stories.
